Context
This case study groups backend and full-stack engineering experience across multiple public hospitals in Indonesia into one portfolio story, rather than a separate write-up for every institution. The work spanned different types of hospital operating environments — including general, military, psychiatric, and maternal-and-child facilities — each with its own operational demands.
Problem
Hospital information systems have to support complex clinical and administrative workflows for many different roles, while protecting sensitive information, maintaining strict access control, and staying reliable and available for continuous, day-to-day operations.
My role
Full Stack Developer Intern, then Web Application Developer at Medify.id, building and maintaining hospital information systems used in complex operational environments.

Constraints & trade-offs
Usability for diverse roles had to be balanced against strict access control and traceability requirements, all while keeping systems reliable for continuous, day-to-day operations rather than optimizing for any single use case.

Reliable systems for complex, sensitive healthcare operations across multiple public hospitals — supporting day-to-day continuity without compromising access control or data integrity.
Lessons
- Handling sensitive information responsibly is a constant, not a one-time decision.
- Reliability and operational continuity matter as much as new features in healthcare systems.
- Authorization and traceability need to be built in, not bolted on.
- Database integrity and maintainability determine how well a system ages.
- Deployment in complex operational environments requires planning beyond the code itself.
